The Middle Years Soon after departing high school with a fond farewell
from the principal who had been my mentor (for those of you present, the
wounds healed with almost no scars!), I tried my hand at several jobs –
finally ending up working for a nuclear plant at North Anna, Virginia.
Some of the machinery is temperamental and I may have been responsible
for a slight incident…
…fortunately, there was little play in the newspapers,
but I decided that it was time to move on and try new vistas and new
horizons… before the cops
caught me. So, I enlisted in the army as a bandsman.
I went to basic training there, although the training was a little out
of date… …I was still able to learn enough to participate in
simple parades and field exercises like these. but, I still was active in the field of music and caught
the eyes of several notable people in the field. “I only regret that I never met Steven Wampler.” “He mutates with the best of us!” “Quick, drown out Steve Wampler’s trumpet playing!
Play LOUDER!” And of course, some of our Commander in Chiefs heard
about me. (Never heard of me) (Never heard of me) (Denies he’s ever heard of me) (Spelled my name wrong) Soon after I attended college at a prestigious institute
of Fine Arts with the finest music faculty ever assembled. And began my career as a teacher of students, yearning
for… Part III, the next years…a.k.a. Honey, we have to move, the creditors have found us AGAIN!!!! Read about the Wampler Family
